Welcome to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School, located in the heart of South Miami. St. Thomas the Apostle was established in 1964 and is a Parochial Catholic School of the Archdiocese of Miami serving students from PK2-8th grade. Together with many of our current teachers, we give back daily to the school. St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School shaped us in becoming the faith filled leaders and educators of the children who walk through the halls of STA.
It is our commitment to provide the very finest in spiritual, academic, and moral preparation for every student. Our curriculum is set forth by the Archdiocese of Miami Department of Schools and is based on best practices. The curriculum is implemented in a challenging and motivational manner that prepares students to thrive in an increasingly global society. The highly qualified faculty and administration are certified by the state of Florida in their areas of expertise and are committed to the teaching of Catholic values in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment of academic excellence.
We offer our students not only a rigorous academic program, but also an education rich in fine arts including art, music, spanish, and drama. We provide a state-of-the-art science lab and STREAM Lab. St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School is an active member of the All Catholic Conference, competing in sports with other Archdiocesan Schools throughout the county.
Together as a school community, we worship Our Lord weekly with the celebration of Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, teaching the students that Christ is the Center of Our Lives.

St Thomas the Apostle Catholic School is fully accredited by the State of Florida and the Florida Catholic Conference and affiliated with the Association of Independent Schools of South Florida. St. Thomas has recently been named a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. In November of 2020, STA was accredited as a STREAM school of the Archdiocese of Miami.
I am blessed to carry out the mission of educating God’s children in this school and I am so thankful to have been a part of their lives for so many years. Every year the U. S. Department of Education celebrates great American schools, schools demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. STA was named 2020 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence for exemplary high performing schools. This prestige is the highest academic honor a school can attain. It has also been a dream of mine since I became a principal in August of 2005 because it is a formal recognition of the incredible school we know STA is. As a result of the extra effort and determination of our faculty and students, past and present, we have achieved the feat of scoring in the top 15 percent in the nation.
