“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
Our main goal is to teach “Life Lessons through Sports” and for the kids to have fun. St. Thomas the Apostle is an active member of the All Catholic Conference, competing with other Archdiocesan Schools throughout the county. Our after-school athletics programs are divided into three divisions, beginning with Primary, followed by Junior Varsity and culminating with Varsity. The Primary division is assembled by 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders, the Junior Varsity is comprised of 5th and 6th graders and the Varsity, 7th and 8th graders.
We encourage our athletes to compete at their highest level of play and each sport is facilitated by our coaches who are very knowledgeable in their respective sports. Academics are the priority at St. Thomas the Apostle; therefore, our athletes must meet and maintain a minimum GPA requirement in order to participate in our athletic program.
Each division competes in a number of different sports. The Primary division competes in Cross Country, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys Baseball, Boys Basketball and Track and Field. The Junior Varsity competes in Cross Country, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys Baseball and Track and Field and the Varsity teams compete against other schools in Cross Country, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Flag Football, Boys and Girls Basketball, Girls Soccer, Boys Baseball and Girls Softball.
We offer the St. Thomas Pre-Primary Academy which is geared towards helping younger students learn the fundamentals of each major sport that St. Thomas the Apostle offers. The goal of the academy is to create a fun learning sports environment for both girls and boys before they become active in St. Thomas teams during 3rd grade and beyond. We begin a year round camp experience starting with Baseball followed by Soccer and then Basketball. Each sports session consists of 10 practices which are held twice a week. At the conclusion of the 10 practice sessions we move on to the next sport offered.
