Aid & Supplies for the Victims of the Ecuador Earthquake
The 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Ecuador on April 16 killed over 660 people and left over 30,000 seeking medical attention. Approximately 7,000 buildings were destroyed and more than 280 schools have been damaged by the earthquake, affecting up to 120,000 children. We are collecting the following supplies for the victims of the earthquake in Ecuador: Bottled water; Diapers; Feminine napkins; and Hand sanitizer. We are also in need of Vitamins, Sunblock, Eye Drops, Antacids, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Cold and Allergy Medicines. Please note, these are the items that have been requested as most needed. We are not collecting any other items such as clothing or perishables. A shipping container will be placed in the parking across from the school and adjacent to the pavilion and, once filled, will be sent to the Archdiocese of Portoviejo, Ecuador for distribution to those most in need. The Men’s Emmaus Ministry is coordinating the collections, which will begin Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 7:00 a.m.
